    Lyandysha (Lana) Zholudeva, PhD, is a Research Investigator at the Gladstone Institutes in San Francisco, CA. She leads a team dedicated to harnessing the therapeutic potential of stem cells for cellular engineering, focusing on creating tailored cells for transplantation into the diseased and injured central nervous system. Lana earned her PhD in Neuroscience from Drexel University College of Medicine, where she specialized in cell engineering and transplantation to repair the injured spinal cord. Her current research at Gladstone involves engineering human spinal interneurons from pluripotent stem cells and testing their therapeutic efficacy in promoting recovery after injury and neurodegenerative diseases. In addition to her scientific endeavors, Lana is passionate about advancing spinal cord injury treatments through communication, education, and collaboration across a variety of stakeholder groups.
