Dr. Rocha Flores is a researcher, engineer, and materials scientist with a strong background in mechatronics and a former professor with nine years of teaching experience in automation, robotics, sensors and actuators, and CAD/CAM. Currently serving as a Senior Product Engineer at BackStop Neural, he applies his expertise in materials science, bioengineering, and microfabrication to design, fabricate, and characterize innovative implantable medical devices. His work encompasses 2D lithography designs, 3D device integration, and performance characterization under electrical, mechanical, and physiological conditions.
During his doctoral studies, Dr. Rocha Flores made significant contributions to medical devices, bioelectronics, 3D printing, and stimuli-responsive materials, resulting in multiple publications and patents. With a problem-solving approach rooted in multidisciplinary collaboration, he seamlessly works alongside electrical and mechanical engineers, computer scientists, material scientists, and neuroscientists to address complex challenges.
Dr. Rocha Flores’s research focuses on advancing modulus-changing bioelectronics to create adaptive, chronic implant components tailored to dynamic physiological environments. His passion lies in developing novel devices that can significantly enhance patient health outcomes and quality of life.
