Ryan Chung, born and raised in Southern California, received his B.A. in Molecular Cell Biology: Neurobiology from UC Berkeley in 2019. Prior to starting medical school, Ryan performed research at a neurophysiology lab at UCSF, where he studied how the brain coordinates movement using mouse models. He matriculated to the USC Keck School of Medicine in 2021. As a medical student, Ryan has been committed to promoting research opportunities for his peers and worked with the Dean of Research to teach a research essentials course to first year medical students. Ryan is currently completing his funded Dean's Research Scholar year under the mentorship of Dr. Brian Lee. In Dr. Brian Lee's lab, Ryan is exploring the variability in evoked potentials to single pulse electrical stimulation and its implications for mapping networks.
