Professor of Neurosurgery and functional Neurosurgery

I am a professor of neurosurgery and functional neurosurgery, started training in 1999 in Ain Shams University, Cairo-Egypt. Have my Phd in Neurosurgery in 2007, Phd thesis entitled " Evaluation of different modalities in managment of intractable Spasticity". Since then I did an extensive work and research on managment of hypertonia, applying both, ablative and neuromodulation techniques. also I work with SFN colleagues in my department to present a world-class survice for our patients in diffent subdivisions of functional neurosurgery. We developed the new combined anterior and posterior rhizotomy surgery for cerebral palsy children who suffered from mixed spastic dystonic hypertonia, achallanging movoment disorder. Beside 30 publications, I participated in the development of the first of its kind, the National consensous guidlines for managment of epilepsy in Egypt. Regionally, through my position as the president of the Middle Eastern Soscity for Stereotactic and Functional Neurosurgery (MSSFN) we worked to enhance the awarenss, the training and the practice of functional neurosurgery in our demanding region, through supporting youn generations to attend hands on cadaveric workshops, conferences and webinars. Currently i am the director of functional neurosurgery clinic in Ain Shams University Hospitals, Director of Residencey training program. Visting professor in OHSU.
