Bernadette T. Gillick, PhD, MSPT, PT
Dr. Bernadette Gillick is over 30 years a Neuroscientist and Pediatric Physical Therapist, Professor and Institute for Clinical and Translational Research Director of Research at the University of Wisconsin-Madison within the School of Medicine and Public Health, and Director of the Waisman Center Pediatric Neuromodulation Laboratory with a focus on brain development and recovery after early injury to the brain and resultant cerebral palsy diagnosis. She is Director on the International Alliance of the Academies of Childhood Disability COVID-19 Task Force, member of the Scientific Advisory Board for the Cerebral Palsy Alliance Research Foundation (CPARF), and Cerebral Palsy Foundation. Dr. Gillick has served as a grant reviewer including the National Institutes of Health, CPARF, and the American Academy Cerebral Palsy and Developmental Medicine (AACPDM). Dr. Gillick’s international funding and mentoring awards include the National Institutes of Health, CPARF, AACPDM, and Foundation for Physical Therapy. She has mentored over 100 mentees in academia who have launched successful careers in their fields. Her pioneering work in the field of pediatric neuromodulation has served as the foundation for safety, feasibility and efficacy research around the world.
