Dr. Gao, MD, PhD. earned his medical degree from Harbin Medical University, China, and brings over a decade of surgical experience. He has held senior research associate positions at both the Cleveland Clinic and Case Western Reserve University. His research expertise spans multiple fields, including organ transplantation, tissue regeneration, nanotechnology, genetic engineering, biocompatible materials, and peripheral nerve stimulation. With 50 publications to his credit, Dr. Gao offers valuable insights into medical and biological research. He explored co-transplantation of hepatocytes and pancreatic islets using micro-encapsulation techniques. He contributed to developing a precise method for detecting DNA double-strand breaks and constructed antioxidant nanoparticles to treat acute spinal cord injury, demonstrating accelerated recovery in animal models.
