Lauren Cimino is a nurse practitioner at Northwestern Medicine’s Neurosurgery Department in Chicago. She has been part of the neurosurgery APP team for the past 11 years, specializing in functional neurosurgery primarily in the outpatient setting. Lauren received her Bachelor’s degree in Science of Nursing from Illinois State University and a Master’s degree in Science of Nursing from University of Illinois at Chicago. Lauren has served on the North American Neuromodulation Society (NANS) APP Subcommittee and has been a co-director for the annual NANS APP course for many years. Her clinical interests include spinal cord stimulation, deep brain stimulation, intrathecal pump management, trigeminal neuralgia, and epilepsy surgery. She has been a strong advocate for educating APPs who are new to functional neurosurgery and pain management.
