Dr Tim J. Lamer has been a member of the Mayo Clinic Staff since 1986 and currently is a member of the Pain Medicine Division and also the Multidisciplinary Spine Center at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, MN. He practices in the Pain Medicine Clinic, the Interventional Pain Practice, and in the Multidisciplinary Spine Center.
His clinical interests are in the diagnosis and treatment of complex spine pain disorders, neuromodulation for the treatment of chronic spinal pain and neuropathic pain, and interventional therapies to treat spinal pain. He has 30 years of extensive experience with interventional pain therapies and neuromodulation therapies including SCS, PNS, IDDS for cancer and non-cancer pain, and IDDS for spasticity. His research interests and publications are in the areas of interventional therapies for spine pain, clinical guidelines for spine pain, spinal cord stimulation for refractory spine pain, novel uses for spinal cord stimulation, and the safety and efficacy of radiofrequency procedures for spine pain.
