Dr. Townsend's main career goal is the translation of cutting-edge neuroscience research into clinically-relevant technologies and therapeutics that will benedit patients. She has over 10 years of experience in various therapeutic areas including neurobiology and neurotechnology development with an emphasis on developing academic and industry collaborations. She obtained her PhD from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in 2016.
