I am a Professor of Stroke Medicine and Consultant Physician in the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital. My research portfolio includes clinical trials in prevention and rehabilitation in stroke survivors. My main interest is in improving the long-term outcome after stroke. I have worked in clinical trials of novel devices to improve stroke recovery. I am currently of the Treasurer of the European Stroke Organisation. I also have an interest in research, ethics and governance and chair, the University of Glasgow MVLS college Research Ethics Committee.
